Generally speaking, Internet of Things is not about hacked cars that kill people. It’s more complex and sophisticated. There are other things to consider that are related to IoT, like Big Data. Probably one of the biggest inventions is related to the possibility to connect all the devices at home (or anywhere else) which might be a fruiful topic to discuss.
First of all, let’s be clear about terms. So, what’s the difference between Big Data and IoT? The former is about the collection of data, whereas the latter is about device connection. Given the potential of data that is IoT able to produce throughout all the devices, it can be argued that IoT triggers new types of technological innovation. Presumably, this will impact the business in many ways, such as data storage that has to handle huge amounts of data and following data security.
In addition, there is an ognoing buzz associated to the device connectedness. For some people it might sound futuristic, but we are getting closer to the point where all our devices at home will be connected and able to handle from one single device. However, the others are quite afraid of their home security to be hacked which allow the thief to access the property.
To sum up, there are many challenges that will Internet of Things embrace in the future. Needless to say, it has huge potential and significantly moves technological world. Whether this revolution will move humankind towards good or bad, that’s up to you to consider.
